Oecus on Thoughts on the animation & art changes

This is my pure opinion. I don't do art anymore nor did I study it for long and it's been like a decade since then. 

 

Edit: Before I forget again use Google Docs next time to post these. It's less work than having to upload a file. Also doesn't make us fear downloading something sketchy or have to download anything at all. Plus you can link it to any comment you make. And we can see edits you make without you having to reupload or us having to redownload.

 

1. You forgot to provide example of the old art. And while I can see where you areare coming from, I think the eyes are different enough between the two to tell the difference and overall when you compare all girls you can see the difference. I agree that things should be consistent and autonomy best as possible but I think the main focus since it's not real art (I mean that it's not say a portrait of a real person or meant to be drawn as a realistic human.) is does it look good. And for the most part ttrop hits that mark.

2. I don't expect animations to be human I just expect them to look good enough that it looks possible.
Also I assume it's hard to get poses right without mannequins or using real human references. And most references are from drawings and the creative freedom of ttrop. The butt hole and hand are fair complaint though. But even I didn't notice until you pointed them out xD. The earlier you spot those though and report it back the more chances they can possibly fix it.

3. Yeah I'm not a fan of static images in general for games because my philosophy is if it's static I could just be looking at an image site where as animated is not common. Especially good animation. But no it didn't lower my expectations for future games as I assume these will stick to small games as the following games have already been shown to still using GIF and now possibly FBF. Also it was stated, not sure if on any of the post on this site, but it has been stated that that game was an experiment for ttrop to try taking a crack at Frame animations. Even splashing surprise the other game with static still had animated scenes though at the end.

4. I disagree with removing immersion from the scene. And it allows more focus on the women which I'm sure most people are there for. Plus it let's for self insert and possibly if you don't like the character you can still enjoy. Though I do think having the characters face gives more emotion. I can understand though about feeling that it makes the scene feel like a random is there. I just think it's something that just has to be balanced right. If all scenes are like that I can undrunders but if only a few are I see no problem.

5. Can't really think right now, but I'm pretty sure unless every scene has a custom background, it's rare for the scene and background to be perfect. And that would require more work. And ttrop can't provide the background as his art style will probably be different than the background of other things. Although I wish that Vortex had custom backgrounds, which he has comissioned for a few things. It cost money so it's not something I really expect, but would like. Also I think the focus is supposed to more so on the sex and not the background.

6. Personally think the camera distance is fine in both as the main focus is the blowjob and boobjob. Especially for the angle it's at. The main things you usually want to keep in frame is the girl's face if visible and the the points of interest and everything depends one what the pose/angle is. If she was for example sitting on a dildo, doing a split, or getting rammed from behind then a zoom out would be needed.

7. I don't see how you didn't see a difference between the quality of the two. The FBF was clearly more static than the GIF. Unless you meant in art.

8. Screen shake is a common thing in cum scenes it usually that or flash before it happens. As I've suggest before I would like to see frames of the cum out when he does FBF and would like to see animated cum for the GIF but both of those require more work and time and personally don't bother me enough.

9.Ttrop is new to FBF animations afaik, so I do agree he needs to add more frames in the animation if they continue. As for the GIF animations for the most part I would say Vortex nailed it (blinking and mouth changes would nice)

To wrap this up, the art has improved overall. Besides the same face, thing which I disagree with, the errors you pointed out are problems the old art had too from time to time. So I'm not sure if it was a critique in general of examples errors or a critique on how the new art suffers compared to the old. The criticism is fair about errors like the hand and anus, and concerns for autonomy too. But as for someone who used to do art I know without a mannequinn or human reference it can be hard. There is also production time to account for. IE if I spend x amount of time trying to make this correct how much time am I losing on doing another thing and how much would people care or be effected. Basically cost benefit. As for animations I agree static aren't desirable, but it's not something he plans on using often. But it's good to voice your opinipns so the developer knows how you feel about it. Your conclusion is fair criticism. More frames for the FBF animation and would like to see more work done into the regular animation poses. And you would prefer a different cum effect.

I wrote this sleepy with no proof read. So I might of missed points, misunderstood things, or possibly say something that doesn't make sense. I don't plan on revising it though.
